Watch Shots and Scenes – the first training module from Look Listen Local

December 10, 2024

Community Supported FIlm is very excited to share with you, Shots and Scenes, the first sample module from our online documentary training – Look Listen Local. Shots and Scenes is an educational tour-de-force about the power of visual storytelling.

Have a look, listen and read and let us know how it comes across. Also included is the first student exercise, Brain-Game: Watch How You Watch the World Around You. To put the training in context, read our brief introduction to the program and learning strategy, and review the course content.

Look Listen Local will be a comprehensive online training in lived-reality documentary filmmaking amplifying local voices in under- and mis-represented communities. Ther program offers communities the creative and technical know-how to bring their issues of concern to life for local, national and international audiences. By the end of the training, each participant will create their own short film on a story important to their community. Then they’ll use their films to build awareness and advocate for change.

This work really needs your support. It is costly to produce dozens of modules on camerawork, sound production, editing and storytelling. Please help us raise $18,000 before the end of the year.

Thank you!
