On Day 7 of Community Supported Film’s 10 day New Immigrant and Refugee Visions (NIRV) film festival, Braulio Tellez-Vilches brings us an excerpt from his film, Lift with Your Heart, about Haitian choreographer and dancer Jean Appolon.

Braulio emigrated from Cuba in 2017 – a moving story in and of itself. During the NIRV training Braulio ‘moved’ us all with salsa lessons!

NIRV is a bounty of stories about the current immigrant experience in the United States.

Influence the national immigration debate – from town halls to the Halls of Congress, in communities both welcoming and resistant to new immigrants. In these divisive times these stories have proven to transform minds and motivate action.
