Not only has Jorgy Cruz been working diligently on his own projects AND editing for NIRV, but he is also capturing the little intimate stories that connect us all. “We have decided to capture and share the stories of immigrants and refugees in the Boston area. The reason that drives us to produce this original content is simple, we can all connect with each other through old stories that have left an important mark in our lives, it doesn’t matter where you’re from, we all have a great grandma story or an embarrassing memory from school, and in that common ground we can all find some similarities. In this horrible political climate that promotes division, fear, and hate between people that don’t look alike we as filmmakers want to do our part in reaffirming that we are all the same, we are all one.”
Jorgy is a filmmaker, editor and co-founder of The Videology Company and LongWood Media. He went to New School University, and is currently working on a feature length documentary on a comedian with bipolar disorder (Funny Pains, Release Date: March 2018). Jorgy emigrated in 2008 from the Dominican Republic, where he taught filmmaking, to New York City and made Boston his home in 2016.
