Your support will help:

  • Produce a comprehensive online, asynchronous, training program in documentary filmmaking. It is our mission to make our training programs available to storytellers around the world facing all forms of social and economic injustices. It is our belief that for the international community to better address the challenges of the world we must learn about the problems and solutions from the local perspective. This initiative will allow anyone to learn documentary filmmaking – especially those in places and situations where in-person training is not possible and meeting online is difficult.
  • Research and develop partnerships for the sustainable international use of the online training program.
  • Fund for Afghan Evacuation and Resettlement (FAER) –

    FAER started in August of 2021 in response to the pullout by the US and the takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban. CSFilm supporters have generously contributed over $90,000 which was and continues to be used to help 21 families at risk of retribution due to their work as journalists, filmmakers, advocates for human rights and democracy and for the previous Afghan government and with international organizations.

    Your support provides funds for subsistence, evacuation, temporary and permanent relocation and legal aid. Since the Trump administration illegally shutdown all pathways to the US, including those mandated by Congress and for many Afghan families who were already cleared for arrival in the US, we have been raising funds to help families survive in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran and to resettle families in Brazil. In 2025 your generous support allowed us to raise the $30,000 needed to guarantee one family of 5 a pathway to Brazil and we are now working to raise $78,000 to move two more families of 6 each.
