The Biden administration announced on September 27 that the cap on refugee admissions for Fiscal Year 23 would be 125,000—the same as the cap for FY 22. However, in FY 22 only 25,400 refugees were allowed to resettle in the United States, amounting to only 20% of that year’s cap.
