Justice for Our Neighbors Kalamazoo (JFON) is hosting a NIRV Screen&Discuss event focused on the theme of refugee resettlement on Wednesday, November 11 from 7pm-8:30pm (ET).

This event is free and open to the public. Please register in advance.

They will watch and discuss Worlds Apart at Home by Somali refugee Abdirahman Abdi, Navigating Hope by Afghan refugee Sayed Najib Hashimi and Seeking Settled Ground by Mohammad Arifuzzaman of Bangladesh.

After the films, filmmaker Abdirahman Abdi and film subject Mani Biswa (a Bhutanese refugee) will join event co-hosts Dr. Maria Roche-Dean (WMU Bronson School of Nursing) and Shukurani Nsengiyumva (Board of the Kalamazoo Refugee Resource Collaborative) in a panel discussion about the issues facing refugees in the US and abroad.

Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON) Michigan welcomes immigrants by providing free or low-cost, expert immigration legal services to low-income immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
