Editors needed to edit four docs, 8-12 min each, shot by and about new immigrants. Scene-based, character-driven (not interview-driven) documentary editing experience essential.
Location: Editors can work at the location of their choice, including the offices of Community Supported Film (CSFilm), South End/Roxbury.
Software: Adobe Premiere or Avid Media Composer, Mac or PC. Work on your own computer or CSFilm’s.
Schedule: Flexible, total of 6-10 editing days per film between now and the first week of March.
Process: Each of the four films will be worked on by one editor for a total of 6-10 editing days. The scenes will first be edited and assembled, then rough cut and refined – with a review between each. The films must be finished by March 7th. Mix, color correction and mastering are not required but can be added to the assignment based on experience. The filmmakers and CSFilm staff will provide transcripts, translations and an index of the footage, providedirection on story intent and structure and coordinate the reviews.
Pay: Commensurate with experience. This is a non-profit educational project.
